1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Rumy ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

Rumy is a roommate and shared living management application that helps users coordinate chores, expenses, and apartment rules. The Service includes our website, mobile applications, and any related services.

3. User Accounts

To use certain features, you must register for an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Promptly notify us of any unauthorized use
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on the rights of others
  • Transmit harmful code, malware, or viruses
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users

5. Shared Living Data & AI Features

By using our AI-powered features, you consent to Rumy processing your roommate preferences and shared living patterns to generate recommendations. All AI processing is conducted in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You retain ownership of your data; we receive a limited license to process it for Service provision.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Rumy and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

7. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rumy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100 if you have not made any payments.

9. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA).

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by posting the updated Terms on our website and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
